The Prime Minister joined the Bangladesh Naval Academy in Chittagong via video conference from Ganobhaban and participated in the virtual event.


 Sheikh Hasina said, "We are building each and every one of our forces in such a way that we have all kinds of initiatives and training to protect the independence and sovereignty of our country."


 The Prime Minister said, "Our goal is that this independent country will always stand tall in the world court. We will make all preparations to protect our independence and sovereignty. '


 In her speech, Sheikh Hasina mentioned, "We will pursue this foreign policy with friendship with all, not enmity with anyone." We want peace, not war. "


 The Prime Minister said her government has already added 28 warships to strengthen the navy. In 2016, the Navy added two state-of-the-art submarines. With the addition of aviation system to the Bangladesh Navy, the government has been able to transform this force into a full three-dimensional force.


 Besides, steps have been taken to construct Bangabandhu Complex at the Naval Academy and solve the housing problem of the members of the Navy for more advanced training, the Prime Minister said.


 Referring to the information provided to the Navy after the Khulna Shipyard came to power in 1996, the Prime Minister said, "We have handed over both the Chittagong and Narayanganj dockyards to the Navy. The goal is to build warships on our own shipyards, some of which have already begun. "


 Apart from that, submarine bases are being constructed at Cox's Bazar and Pekua and work is underway to expand the naval base at Ramnabad.
